In the ever-evolving world of fashion, few individuals possess the innate ability to create a seamless blend of style, music, and entrepreneurial prowess. One such luminary is Nigo, the multifaceted Japanese fashion designer, DJ, record producer, and entrepreneur (to name but a few of his more notable ventures!). His recent AW24 Runway Presentation during Paris Fashion Week, arguably the standout event of the Paris Calendar, underpinned those credentials at the very least.

Renowned for his eclectic taste and undeniable creative genius, Nigo has left an indelible mark on global fashion and lifestyle spaces, redefining the boundaries of modern luxury. Now in his 3rd season as KENZO’S Creative Director,  these creative facets exude through his creations.

Kenzo Blue 'Kenzo Seigaiha' Denim Jacket

Nigo delves into his cultural roots with his pattern for the season - “Seigaiha” Literally meaning 'blue sea and waves'. Seigaiha was used to illustrate seas and oceans on maps as early as the 6th century.

The water and waves also symbolise power and resistance, key elements of Japanese culture. The use of this print is an evocative statement from Nigo, that reinforces his intent to reposition Kenzo Paris, under the view of parent company LMVH's umbrella, as a dominant player in global fashion.

Kenzo BOKE Flower Drawn Varsity T-shirt

Nigo again draws on his Japanese heritage and one of the iconic symbols of his Kenzo tenure so far. Creating a fresh twist on the Kenzo Paris Boke Flower Nigo has now ‘drawn’ the Japanese poppy hand sketch style. The embroidered, textured graphic evokes a luxurious touch to a classic t-shirt shape, that can be perfectly paired with most outfits.

Kenzo Brown Hooded Cardigan

Americana fashion has been a staple influence of Nigo’s creative career, from his work with Human Made, BBC and now Kenzo. Nigo draws from the obvious stylings but fuses Japanese chicness and sensibility into the garments. None is more so apparent than with this Brown & Yellow Hoody Jumper, paired with a Kenzo Paris Tiger T-Shirt.  A luxurious modern take on a staple hoodie / tee streetwear drop.. The preppy ‘letterman’ styling of IVY League colleges, married with shawl collars, directly influenced Japanese tailoring. A subtle, yet masterful process.
